Our History

Founded by Dieter Gerngross, the company began with a focused vision of serving the local skiing community. Steve and Wes have since continued the founder’s legacy, expanding the business while maintaining its core commitment to quality and community. Over the years, we have broadened our offerings to include a wide range of outdoor sports. Today, our stores support activities such as snowboarding, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and touring, mountain biking, road biking, gravel biking, wakeboarding, water skiing, and snowshoeing. Despite our growth, we have maintained a welcoming, local-business feel that makes every customer feel like part of the Alpenland family.
